Baptism and the Holy Spirit
Some denominations teach that the Holy Spirit is given at the same time and as a result of water baptism. Is the physical act of baptism and the appearance of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life connected?
This Study will discuss the following questions. When the gospel is presented in the New Testament is the Holy Spirit promised as a result of water baptism? Are there examples in the Scripture of the Holy Spirit being given during, and because of, water baptism?

The material is formulated to teach the truth of the Bible by identifying and bringing to bear all relevant Biblical information. It is our resolve that the teaching material will give glory to God in the gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Meet the Editor
Bro. Bake is the pastor of Luckey Baptist Church in De Soto, Missouri. Listen to his sermons at: http://www.sermonaudio.com/source_detail.asp?sourceid=luckeybaptist. He has a master’s degree in theology and has been a Bible teacher for over 40 years. He began, and administers, a jail ministry at the Jefferson County Jail (Hillsboro, MO) in which seven churches participate. He presents the gospel one-on-one to prisoners in the jail, weekly. His passion is to understand and proclaim the truth in order to give glory to God in the gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and he was saved in Thailand while he was a pilot in the Viet Nam war.
